Comcast has promoted Steve Croney to the newly created role of chief operating officer for the national operations of its Connectivity and Platforms segment which serves more than 32 million customers.
It’s an important role within Comcast’s largest division, with around $80 billion in annual revenue, that oversees broadband – as the largest provider in the U.S. – voice and video to residential and professional customers. Parent company NBCUniversal’s other division is Content & Experiences.
The executive, who previously served as the company’s CFO, will lead teams responsible for Comcast’s U.S. residential and commercial businesses, including product strategy, sales and marketing, customer experience, operations in the field and data analysis. He will report to Dave Watson, CEO of Comcast Connectivity & Platforms, and the teams that manage these functions will report to Croney, effective immediately.

Most recently as CFO, Croney was responsible for all functional, programmatic and financial operations of Connectivity & Platforms. A 30-year veteran of the Philadelphia media giant, he has held strategic, financial and operational leadership roles within the company and led a number of critical company initiatives, including business integration acquired and the marketing of new products, management of connectivity and platforms. pandemic response and leveraging AI and data throughout operations.
